Adobe: Hey Steve, your iPhones and iPads and stuff are great! What a fantastic opportunity to help drive our tools and solutions and platform into the mobile space!
Steve: Yeah, I bet you'd like that. How much would you like to pay us?
Adobe: Zero dollars. But just think, all the flash games on the whole WEB could be on the iPhone.
Steve: Uh sure. We have this app store, where we receive dollar money for every single app sold. How much dollar money would all those web flash games make for us?
Adobe: Zero dollars.
Steve: Eat a bag of dicks.
Adobe: Developers want to develop for the iPhone. Flash developers. There are thousands and thousands of them.
Steve: Yeah, we have thousands of developers too. And we have a business model around that. We make tools available for free, but we charge $99 a year to sell stuff in the app store, and as I mentioned, a cut of sales. Would those thousands and thousands of flash developers be a good fit for our business model, you think?
Adobe: Probably not. We have a different business model, where we charge for the tools up front. About $1500 per copy.
Steve: So our revenue stream would become your revenue stream. Nice fucking try. No really, eat a bag of dicks.
Adobe: Flash developers are people too, you know! People with hopes and dreams and children.
Steve: Feel free to share your bag of dicks with them.
